Okay, so if you got to read my latest blog, you may have noticed that one of our Bloggers, Josh McCaffery, was on the list of reasons why I hated Christchurch. Zeke (another Blogger here) said it was well deserved and Josh seems to think that it's some badge of honour. Regardless, there's a real problem that we face at Yammer House with Josh.
I run Yammer House, so Josh is sort of right in my sphere of responsibility, but Josh is on the Yammer House Canterbury content team which means he's really under my "management" and this is a problem. Josh has been in the Yammer House content circle for nearly three months. This is a fair amount of time and that's worth noting down. The issue with his "tenure" of three months is that Josh (under his blogger page) only has four blogs to his name. One of them is one I wrote, so he has only written three. That's a big problem for three months. Worse off, he's produced four minutes of reading time over three blogs.
I want to look at his blogs a little more. Let's dive into them. Keep in mind that Josh is a Music blogger that "specializes" in the local music scene. Josh published his first blog on the 10th of March. It was a good blog and I had some hope for the future. I was stupid in having some faith in Josh. Two weeks later (which isn't terrible progress) he released another blog saying Zeke and I should go back to Timezone Bowling after he fluked his way to a victory at Zone Bowling. It was weird that a music blogger thought it was fit to blog about Bowling in his second blog, but that's fine. I'll look over it. Then skip forward to the 6th of May. Yes... From the 24th of March to the 6th of May... a full 43 Days. He decided to write another one-minute read about Music Month. I was fine with this, but I think I need to dive into this blog a little more specifically.
So let's do it. Josh wrote about NZ Music Month and said this... "Also over the month of May I will be doing a couple of blogs on various bands and artist for Music month so stay tuned for that. Now go get your prescribed dose of local music." Now, spelling mistakes aside, the biggest issue I have with this statement is that Josh said he will do something and then didn't do anything about it. I don't care that he broke his promise to me at all, but it is inexcusable to break a promise to the Housies, the readers, the people who stick by the crappy content we produce. It isn't good enough.
Josh has a lot of making up to do and it has nothing to do with me or any of the other bloggers here. See you in another 43 Days.
