Why The NBA Bubble Is A Smart, Yet Stupid Idea

Sports without a crowd is like music without a bass line. Soulless, empty and overall, hard to get right.

When it boils down, every single game comes down to its fundamentals. For basketball, that is putting a ball in a hoop, however there is a difference between putting a ball in a hoop with a crowd and without a crowd. There's a reason college basketball has an audience and that's because people like to watch up and coming ballers and the crazy fans bringing the energy. That's what the NBA bubble unfortunately lacks, and there is no real solution.

Should the NBA have come back? Yes of course, the opportunity presented itself and was taken. However, should it be presented in its current format, like its simply basketball but without the crowd? No! This was someones opportunity to bring a new, fresh way of presenting basketball to the table. Instead it feels like a thin watered down version of what it was. Call it a wasted opportunity, but surely there could have been some unique creative input to make the basketball more of a spectacle. Or at least highlight the raw power and physicality of the game that is lost from traditional camera angles. A court side view cam just seems tacky and not anything that special. I'm literally just rambling but I am excited for NBA basketball to come back, however when playoff time comes around and the game still feels soulless, i'm gonna feel disappointed slightly, maybe we'll get a closer look at the players words and coach's talks and that would be something special. But only time will tell for now. ~ CEO of Blog
