Unlike Hayden, I Support Good Teams

If you read Hayden's blog yesterday, he decided to call me ignorant. I won't argue and that I'm ignorant about nothing because the irony of that would be that it would be an incredibly ignorant statement to make. I do, however, support good teams. For example, the Philadelphia 76ers... Aren't they fantastic?!

We're 16-7 (0.695) and to be honest if you take away a patch where we went 0-3, we're easily the best team in the league. I was actually thinking long and hard about how to write this blog because I was completely dumbfounded that nothing catastrophic had happened yet. Really though... Nothing has gone really badly. Sure, without Joel the team sort of struggles to keep the pace offensively, but the difference is night and day. Do I think this team is any different (in terms of playoff potential) under Doc Rivers compared to Brett Brown? Who knows... I sure don't have a clue yet... Let's see what happens in the playoffs (wild assumption, but it's a safe bet to say we will be in the playoffs, I think. I mean... We are first in the conference.

Imagine not supporting a good team though... Especially when it's the sport that you know and love. Must be nice. Oh wait... I don't have to imagine. I can just ask Hayden what he thinks as a Liverpool guy! It must suck. It really has to suck. I went through my years of suffering throughout what Sam Hinkie invented and called "The Process" and it was awful. Now, I get to enjoy some level of success. I do, though, think that this season is a very hit or miss season, or more of an "all or nothing" sort of year. If we lose, trade the team. If we win, great! Philadelphia will riot about their success for a week and then return to a sporting city with marginal success.

It's a tough life as a fan of a successful franchise. It's really hard to stay motivated to watch your team crush yet another victim. Unfortunately for Hayden, Liverpool doesn't have the current success of my Sixers, but they do have one thing in common... Without a doubt some of the most loyal fans in sports. Especially in Hayden's case... You have to be loyal to stand aside and watch that rubbish...

Have fun, Hayden!!
