Short answer... Yes. Zach Lavine is absolutely being wasted in the Bulls lineup, but because this is the NBA and I write for Yammer House, you know nothing is that easy. There's obviously a larger reason that I'm writing this blog and it has a bigger answer than "Yes". You could even argue that isn't even the long answer.
For context, Chicago played against the Atlanta Hawks today and, I'll be honest, I expected Chicago to be put on the plane scarred for life after being blown out in embarrassing fashion, but I noticed that this wasn't the case. I keep forgetting something about this Bulls team though... This is not the Jim Boylen Chicago Bulls. This is a team that actually WANTS to play Basketball. This is the Billy Donovan Chicago Bulls. They're a real Basketball team. They still lost the game, but at least they would be welcome home instead of having some form of deep-dish diabetes thrown in their faces. They went down 120-108, so not all bad news for Chicago.
About Zach Lavine, though... The man is insane. He's just different. He hit 7 Threes in the FIRST HALF to go into the break with 39 Points. This could've been a monster of a game for him, but in true NBA fashion he ended up scoring 50 in a game which, even though it's a huge deal, is sorta disappointing for his first half. I mean, I'm not saying I could score a single point in the NBA, but if I could score 39 in a half, I'd hope for more than 11 in the second... Just saying. I'm still convinced that he's out of this world. He's crazy. He does this insane stuff all the time and then we all sorta realise that he's on the Bulls and feel bad for him for a while.
To answer the question finally, he's sort of wasted in Chicago, but if they're to make a run for a chip, he's certainly a good piece to keep. He deserves it too. Especially after the crap that Boylen put him through. I'm glad he has a Coach like Billy Donovan.
