I feel like there are things that happen in Basketball all the time and buzzer-beater shots are becoming more common as time goes on. People are also slowly gravitating towards the centre circle to extend their offensive system's threat with a truly deep ball three. These both, as well, are sometimes even combined to make a weird situation where there is essentially a prayer of a shot thrown up with no real chance of going in and then it just sinks into the basket. It's so basketball it isn't even funny.
Basically, the title is the content I have to share. It's a Conference Championship game with very little time remaining. They're down by two so my man just heaves up a half-court shot (it's actually a three-quarter court shot, but whatever, who cares about the pedantics) to beat the buzzer and win the game and guess what... he buries it. This man will be immortalised at his College forever as the king of the buzzer. This man may have been single beforehand, but not anymore... This man is officially off the market because all he'd have to do now is pick someone.
That video was fantastic, but let's analyse it a little... If the team that lost the game just missed the second free throw on purpose (which is a really legitimate way of doing things nowadays) and tried holding the ball if they won the rebound or pressuring the rebounder straight away to try limit ball movement, they probably wouldn't have had time to get that shot off and they likely could've won the game by a tiny margin.
I don't want to take away from the shot or the success that shot affirms after a long season. Congratulations on winning the Conference Championship with a three-quarter court prayer.
