Are the Blues a Problem?

So I've been spending the majority of my time as the Chief of Content at Yammer House reading the blogs from our bloggers and then reading into what they write. Most of it is pretty good, but I can't help but notice one thing in particular. I think we just blindly support the Crusaders without acknowledging really anybody else.

Jezza (our relatively long-time rugby blogger) would not only agree with the idea that we blindly support the Crusaders with some evidence like "well why wouldn't you blindly support the Crusaders?" but he would also double down and laugh at the suggestion of recognising the potential victory and triumph of anyone else. I must admit that I've done some investigating into this and I think I've come to a research question and discussion point. This begs the question, if not us, then who?

Well, if you're smart enough to have read the title of this blog before you clicked onto it you would have already figured out which team I'm going to talk about today, but chances are, you're a rugby "bloke" so I seriously question your ability to put two and two together and get four. The Blues. They're a problem. They absolutely dismantled the Highlanders in a 39-17 thrashing. We should and shouldn't be surprised about this result. The Highlanders losing in this fashion is a rather typical result for us, as Crusaders fans, to see. What is surprising is that it's the Blues... I mean, nobody used to lose to the Blues let alone be destroyed by them which is exactly why we should be concerned. What on earth is going on up there besides outbreaks of COVID-19.

Do I think we need to be worried? Yes. I think we should worry about what the Blues have to offer. Should this worry turn into fear of defeat? No. We are the Crusaders and we blindly support them. I mean, come to think of it... we aren't going to lose against the Blues, are we? We can't possibly let that happen, right? It's the Blues! They're the biggest bandwagon fans I've ever seen.

We will see what happens in less than a week at Eden Park.
