In one of my recent blogs I wrote about a game that I had found on Itch.io, a website designed to help upcoming game designers. Now there are some great games on this website and you should definitely go check them out, a lot of them actually provide a good amount of entertainment.
However. There is a large amount of games on this website that fail to add one crucial thing to their games. The settings menu, the one thing that can change your experience from being horrific to actually maybe fun, of course that also relies on other things that the game has to do, for example function. Because of this settings menu dilemma, I have had to play my way through many games that had background music Blasted at full volume while I am trying to play the game and/or talk to my friends on Discord.
Normally when gaming you are also able to change the resolution quality of the game, the audio, the controls, key bindings etc. Because of the unavailability to do any of these, the games are basically unplayable, and not an enjoyable experience for the players.
Most of these games are in Beta and/or being constantly worked on to fix the many problems they have, and of course, finish the game to the standard they set out to complete it to. To any game designers and/or developers that read this.
PLEASE put a settings menu in your game.
