I think we've all seen footage of Russell Westbrook being covered in Popcorn by now, but if you haven't, it has sparked a new standard of fan behaviour directed by the NBA. If you haven't seen it, have a look at this video.
It's pretty bad. As a Philly fan myself, I'm annoyed that I'm in a fanbase with some of the biggest scumbags in the NBA. As a Basketball guy, I think the new standard for fan behaviour is a great thing. It needed to happen to protect the players. A tonne of players have reacted to Popcorngate and the new standard being set out by the league. I think we can all agree to ignore LeBron. He's annoying and loves his own voice too much.
KD undoubtedly had the funniest thing to say (which is why he's in the blog). It's true though. You wanna enjoy yourself? Don't overplay it. I know some fans deserve to be banned for life and I would argue that Popcorngate isn't even the worst part of it at all. The worst part is something that happened in a game between the Hawks and the Knicks. Trae Young, one of the leagues future stars, was waiting to put the ball in play and one of those New York scumbags fully spat on him.
I'm glad the league has taken this stance. It's great that fans are back, but man... Some fans are poor excuses for people. Let's go Sixers.
