Thiago Alcantara has, for the cut-price fee of £20 million, become Liverpool’s second signing of the window. Just as it was looking as though the Reds would sign nobody for the second successive summer, Thiago has arrived. Thiago, who is fresh off winning the Champions League with Bayern. Thiago, who has won nine league titles in his last ten seasons between Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Thiago, who was described in 2013 by Pep Guardiola as: “the only player that I want. It will be him or no one.”
Of course, this is extremely excellent news. There is just one (very, very minor) issue with the move. That issue is that having last week written this piece, this Yammer blogger now looks like an absolute plonker. In the offending piece, I describe the football media who had been talking up the chances of Thiago moving to Liverpool as “talking out of their backsides.”
A tad embarrassing for me, to say the least.
Thiago, on the other hand, looks pretty sure of himself sat in the Anfield dressing room:
And stood beside the pitch:
And here, signing his contract:
So … yeah. I got that one wrong.
Oops.
You idiot. You're truly a Yammer Blogger once you get something wrong. Idiot.
