The Time I Almost Kicked A Child

So In light of it being school holidays I am posting yet again another work story of mine.

The time I almost booted a child across the restaurant

So when we have young children (like under 5) we advise to the parents that they keep their children in their seats because with a dinner rush going on and servers rushing sometimes we will not see you lovely angel running around trying to hit as many waitresses as possible and your child might end up getting stomped. This story takes place just before school started up again in January. At this point it was about my 5th double shift in a row and I was just about ready to quit. A family of 5 walk in and sit in my section and that was completely fine. I didn't have a lot of tables and kids meals are particularly easy to order. these kids had just been to the movies or something and had gotten some splat balls from a toy stand in the mall. splat balls are a ball thats sticky on a string so you can throw them they splat against the wall and come back to you. they were having fun running around throwing these splat balls at each other. I took their orders and it was all pretty simple. about 15 minutes go by, their food is ready and so I start to bring it out. While carrying a plate of very hot nachos in one hand and 2 plates on my other arm one of these children decides it would be super funny to throw the ball at me. I can assure the 3rd degree burns on my arm were not funny. The words that came out of my mouth next were not for the faint of heart and in the split second as the burning hot cheese covered my arm I kicked one of my legs forward and narrowly missed the child. I really wish I kicked that child. My arm hurt for weeks.

Thank you for reading

Until next time

Myllo.
